1. Educational Qualification

The KPSC Lineman 2025 EEE minimum educational requirement is:

• SSLC or equivalent—An individual should have passed Class 10th (SSLC) from any recognised board in Kerala or any other recognised board in India.
• ITI Certificate Electrician/Wireman Trade—Individuals should hold an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate for Electrician or Wireman Trade from a government-recognised institution. This certification ensures the possession of skills about electrical wiring, repairs, and installations.
• Practical Experience (if any) – Depending on the recruitment requirements, some recruitment may be linked to prior working experience in electrical wiring, power distribution, or even in maintenance. Practical knowledge in the electrical field in candidates will give them a one-up above other candidates in a selection process.

Please note: Candidates holding higher qualifications, such as a diploma in electrical engineering, can also apply depending on the official notification.

2. KPSC Lineman 2025 Age Limit

The minimum and maximum age limits for applicants to the KPSC Lineman 2025 exam are as follows:

> Minimum Age: 19 years

> Maximum Age: 36 years

This implies that candidates born on or after January 2, 1988, and before January 1, 2005, January 2, 1988, and before January 1, 2005, both dates inclusive, are eligible to apply. 

3. Age Relaxation for Reserved Categories

candidates belonging to the reserved categories:

• OBC—3 years relaxation up to 39 years of age
• SC/ST—up to 41 years of age with 5 years of relaxation
• Ex-servicemen: Age relaxation as applicable according to government rules and regulations guided by the years of service
• Physically handicapped candidates: Relaxation up to 10 years according to the type of disability.

4. Physical Fitness Requirements

Since the work of a lineman involves high-voltage electrical lines, pole climbing, and physically demanding jobs, candidates have to meet the required physical fitness standards. The following are examples:

• Good eyesight with or without corrective lenses
• No colour blindness since the linemen are required to recognise different colours for wires.
• Climbing ability on poles and working at heights
• General physical fitness certified by a medical board

Before final selection, candidates may be required to pass a physical endurance test or submit a medical fitness certificate from an approved medical officer.
