SSC-JE eligibility criteria

The SSC-JE qualifying requirements were established by the Staff Service Commission, which administers the exam. These requirements comprise the following:

Educational Qualification

Candidates interested in applying for Junior Engineer positions with the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) must meet a set of educational requirements that have been established by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). Junior Engineer (Civil), Border Roads Organisation Ministry of Defence

Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute
OR
1) Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute/Board; and
2) Two years of working experience in Planning/Execution/Maintenance of Civil Engineering works.

Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical), Border Roads Organisation, Ministry of Defence.

Degree in Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute;
OR
1) Three years Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Automobile Engineering from a recognized University/Institute/Board; and
2) Two years of experience in Planning/Execution/Maintenance of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering works.

Junior Engineer (Civil or Electrical) CPWD

Diploma in Civil or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university or institute.

Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical engineering), Central Water Power Research Station.

Diploma in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical engineering from a recognized university or institute.

Junior Engineer (Civil or Mechanical engineering), Central Water Commission.

Degree or Diploma in Civil or Mechanical engineering from a recognized university or institute.

Junior Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical), Directorate of Quality Assurance (Naval).

Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical and Mechanical engineering branch), Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (Andaman Lakshadweep Harbour Works)

Diploma in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution or university.

SSC-JE Exam Pattern

SC-JE Exam Pattern is as follows:

Paper I: Computer Based Examination – i) General Intelligence and Reasoning ii) General Awareness iii) Part A: General Engineering (Civil and Structural) or Part B: General Engineering (Electrical) or Part C: General Engineering (Mechanical).

General Intelligence and Reasoning, and General Awareness comprise questions that total 50 marks (in each case).

Apart from this, the third part – General Engineering (Electrical) or General Engineering (Mechanical) is of 100 marks.

Paper II: Written Examination – i) Part A: General Engineering (Civil and Structural) or Part B: General Engineering (Electrical) or Part C: General Engineering (Mechanical) is 300 marks.

The duration of Paper-I and Paper-II is 2 hours each.
