Sub Engineers coordinate and monitor electrical installation field works in government project sites. The job involves managing contractors, proper use of equipment, and ensuring the work is accomplished following safety and technical standards.
➤ Maintenance and repair of electrical systems
They have to make sure government buildings, road lighting, transformers, and electrical systems are checked and maintained when necessary.
➤ Carrying out inspection and making safety reports
Sub Engineers perform periodic inspections to monitor system faults, overloading, or hazards. They prepare technical reports based on this and advise measures to avert accidents or electrical faults.
➤ Supporting senior-level engineers in technical activities
They collaborate with Executive Engineers and Assistant Engineers to execute large-scale electrical projects. They also prepare daily progress reports and coordinate work among departments and teams.
Eligibility Criteria (Expected)
➤ Diploma in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics
Engineering for three years is needed to appear for the job.
The minimum qualification for this post is a diploma in Electrical or EEE from a recognized institute.
➤ Age Limit: 18–36 years
General category candidates should be 18 to 36 years old.
➤Recruitment Process: Kerala PSC Written Exam
The choice for the position is made through a written test, and this can either be held in OMR format or online at the discretion of the PSC. Those candidates who do well in this exam will be incorporated into the rank list. They will then be appointed according to the rank as well as vacancies in the concerned departments.
